Hi, I’m Minh.
From Hanoi to Hanover. I’m a senior at Dartmouth, studying math and computer science. I work with models of every kind. This book is the runway kind.
Off the clock, I do photoshoots, runway walks, and castings. This year has been my start in womanhood. Rushing a sorority for the first time this fall was a big step for me,I joined Kappa Delta this fall, my first time rushing a sorority, and it’s made me more comfortable walking into rooms where I’m new.
I want to walk for Fashion Etc., and help build the show around the walk.

The closet she
opened for me.
The day before my flight back to college, my mom took me to a closet she had kept for decades. It was full of her clothes from her own college years, in the 2000s. She had great fashion sense. She told me to pick whatever I wanted.
I know I’ll always have her beside me, and I know how much she has sacrificed for me to be who I am today. That’s what drives me, on the runway and off it.
My motivation is my mom.

Every look starts in someone else’s closet. A mom’s, a sister’s, a roommate’s. My mom opened hers to me. This show opens everyone’s.
Each model walks in something borrowed from a person who shaped them, styled up to full runway glamour, with wings we make by hand. The lenders sit in the front row. In the finale, the wings come off.

One straight white runway, audience on both sides, a photo pit at the end. A floor mirror marks the turn: each model stops, holds a flash beat, and turns. Cast for a range of bodies, genders and walks. About 20 minutes.
